Restaurants
When GS Magazine was launched in 1997 its focus was very much on hotel interior design and our target market was hoteliers, architects and interior designers. Magazines that served the restaurant market, like the Caterer, were providing much of what the restaurant industry required; restaurant management ideas aplenty and restaurant management jobs as they became available throughout the UK. At that time, with a few exceptions, hotel restaurants were decorated, not designed, to blend in with the general design of the hotel interior.
The focus of the hotel restaurant was to serve hotel guests without too much concern about non-residents. Time has changed. Hotels now design their restaurants as standalone businesses. Many partner with existing restaurant brands or celebrity chefs to provide an attractive alternative to the high street. It’s not uncommon to find names like Pierre Koffman, Gordon Ramsay, Michael Caines, Marco Pierre White, Brian Turner and Michel Roux jnr. above the hotel restaurant door. And in order to compete with independent restaurants, the interiors need to pass muster. Now that GS Magazine is an online title, we will provide top restaurant management jobs, through our jobs’ sections, together with plenty of restaurant management ideas and tips to help ensure your hotel restaurant competes with the very best.
