ReardonSmith Architects
ReardonSmith Architects focuses exclusively on the hospitality sector.
In the course of nearly 40 years, the London-based practice has restored, refurbished, repurposed and created legendary hotels and resorts across Europe and further afield.
Acting as Concept, Lead or Executive Architect, the practice regularly collaborates with world-renowned architects, interior designers and other industry-leading professionals, always with the objective of achieving projects that deliver the best possible guest experience and serve the test of time.
Current projects include:
Chancery Rosewood, Grosvenor Square, London – In recasting the former American Embassy as a luxury hospitality destination, the project will achieve a transformational hub in the heart of Mayfair.
Three basements and a new rooftop level have been added to the building.
There will be numerous dining and retail options, a 1500m2 spa, a ballroom and 144 generously sized guestrooms including two large penthouse suites.
The Dorchester, Park Lane, London – The largest renovation of the property in over 30 years is moving this iconic hotel on into its next chapter.
Ground floor public areas are complete, bringing a new level of glamour and sense of place, as are many of the guestrooms.
Still to come, is a reimagining of the top floor featuring a new restaurant and bar, and a refurbishment of the penthouse suites.
The Beaumont, London – ReardonSmith has a long relationship with this much loved Mayfair establishment.
As the original architects, they helped create a hotel that “felt like it had been there forever”.
Since then, the practice has led a gentle evolution of public and guest spaces and are now putting the finishing touches to a significant extension which will add 29 luxury guestrooms as well as new function rooms and staff offices.
ReardonSmith is also working on a new hotel overlooking the Adriatic Sea in Croatia, a new resort destination in the Mediterranean and a country club in the Balkans.
Completed projects include:
Porto Montengro – ReardonSmith masterplanned and designed the initial phases of this benchmark marina resort, transforming a neglected stretch of the Montenegrin coast into a world-class destination.
Work included the design of a new Regent Hotel plus several phases of residential and retail development.
At Sloane, London – This extraordinary hotel opened its doors in autumn 2023.
Described as “effortlessly cool” and as having a “grown up sexiness”, this exquisitely designed and masterfully delivered hotel involved a dedicated ReardonSmith team responsible for handling all phases of the project from planning to realisation of the design vision on-site.
Broadwick Soho, London – ReardonSmith’s scheme for the replacement of two 1980s office buildings in Soho, the retention of an 1880s property in between and the addition of new basement and rooftop levels gained planning consent in 2017.
The result is the recently opened Broadwick Soho Hotel, steeped in the cosmopolitan flavour of its location.
The Savoy London – This was one of the most ambitious hotel restoration projects ever undertaken in London.
The building was taken back to its early structure, stabilised and given a new services infrastructure.
Every existing space was refurbished, architectural and design gems were restored or replicated, and spaces were “rediscovered” to be given a glamorous new purpose.
