New Year…New Hotels

An exciting year ahead for new hotel openings with London, as ever, taking the lead, with several high-end hotels due to launch.

Of the seven new hotels mentioned below, four were expected to open in 2025.

Knowing this, it would be unhelpful to predict opening dates but we are assured that all are now on target to launch sometime during 2026.

The Newman, Fitzrovia

This hotel will surely be gathering a clutch of design awards when it opens.

The hoardings are down and through the glass-fronted ground floor you will see that the brasserie is ready to open, with stunning art deco styling and tables laid.

Designers Lind + Almond have given the hotel a 1920’s feel, adding art deco touches to the 81 bedrooms and suites, the restaurants and the bars.

Admiralty Arch Waldorf Astoria, The Mall

100 rooms, restaurants run by celebrity chefs, and beautiful bars are promised in this converted London landmark, opposite Buckingham Palace.

Originally penned to open in 2022 we can but hope that it’ll be worth the wait.

The Other House, Covent Garden

Like its sibling in South Kensington, this hotel/Residents Club offers much to its members (residents are granted temporary membership), in a building that, it is rumoured, Robert de Niro once had his business eye on.

The Other House will have 146 bedrooms and Club Flats, a street café, private restaurant and bar, a rooftop bar and fabulous James Lakeland designed staff uniforms.

Imperial London, Russel Square, Bloomsbury

This hotel is undergoing a major transformation and aims to become a major player amongst London’s big star-rated hotels.

The Imperial London, once an uninspiring business hotel, has appointed seasoned veteran Remus Obertelli as GM to oversee the final parts of the hotel’s refurbishment, including its 357 rooms and suites and a new 10th floor restaurant and rooftop bar, all designed with a ‘mid-century modern’ flourish.

Shepherd Mayfair, Shepherd’s Market

Likely to be the first new hotel to open in the new year.

A rather discreet and desirable boutique hotel with just 82 rooms, a speakeasy bar and a refined restaurant.

Zetter, Bloomsbury

68 rooms and suites across six townhouses.

Expect references to the area’s artistic and literary heritage with plush and comfy sofas, antiques, low lighting and rich textiles aplenty.

This is the third Zetter hotel, following openings in Clerkenwell and Marylebone.

It is a brand known for its style and atmosphere, coupled with first rate service.

House of Gods, Canary Wharf

This brand-new hotel was ready to rock ‘n’ roll in November until an 11th hour announcement was made that its opening would be delayed due to unforeseen building complexities.

This announcement was made on the morning of the day they had planned an elaborate opening party.

One can only imagine how frustrating, and costly, that would have been for the owners, management and party organisers!

The hotel has 79 luxury bedrooms and a 300-cover rooftop bar and restaurant called the Sacred Garden.

House of Gods (HOG) is a Scottish-owned company who launched their first hotel in Edinburgh in 2019, followed shortly after with a HOG in Glasgow.
