Brown’s Hotel, a Rocco Forte Hotel in the heart of Mayfair, announces the launch of its three new Forte Suites.

Rich in texture and narrative, the Clementi, Clara Dow, and Nightingale Suites each celebrate a unique local musical connection, from a nod to the Italian maestro who called Mayfair home, to a Gilbert and Sullivan soprano star, and a wartime ballad sung by Forces Sweetheart Dame Vera Lynn.

The Clementi Suite (pictured below) and the Clara Dow Suite – a creative collaboration between Paolo Moschino Ltd and Olga Polizzi, Rocco Forte Hotels’ Director of Design – draw further inspiration from English architect Sir John Soane, with thoughtful use of light, space, and classical elements.

The Nightingale Suite – Olga Polizzi’s own design – takes on a dreamlike intimacy in a romantic tribute to the 1939 song A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square.

The Clementi Suite An homage to Muzio Clementi, the Roman-born composer who made Mayfair his home, this serene suite has draped fabrics and a palette anchored by Farrow & Ball’s Calke Green.

A concealed door offers a nod to Sir John Soane’s architectural playfulness, while antique accents and bold contemporary artworks strike a thoughtful balance between past and present.

The Clara Dow Suite

An elegant tribute to English soprano and star of Gilbert & Sullivan’s operas, Clara Dow, features hand crafted San Patrignano wallpaper, decorative cornices and period-inspired details create a theatrical setting.

Once photographed nearby at the iconic Dover Street Studios, Dow is reimagined here in a space that reflects both her artistry and the creative spirit of Edwardian Mayfair.

The Nightingale Suite

This intimate space revives a wartime ballad sung by Dame Vera Lynn – once a guest of Brown’s Hotel and a voice of hope for a generation.

Soft lighting, handwoven rugs, and sculptural sconces create a nostalgic and elegant mood, while the Emperador marble bathroom with its unusual porthole window offers a moment of calm above the rooftops of Mayfair.

Olga Polizzi, Director of Design at Rocco Forte Hotels shares: “We have created spaces that feel deeply connected – to the building, to Mayfair, and to the people who have shaped it over the years.

This project is among the most personal and meaningful we’ve undertaken at Brown’s Hotel.”

Designer Philip Vergeylen of  Paulo Moschino Ltd., reveals: “Our interior design narrative returns Brown’s Hotel to its Georgian roots.

“We’ve defined the style through carefully chosen colours, rich fabrics, and layered textures, while infusing the space with a modern sensibility.

“Every element—from the building shell to the bespoke interiors—is conceived as a complete work of art.”

The new suites form the first phase of an ambitious design refresh at London’s oldest luxury hotel.

Over the coming months, further spaces will be reimagined to reflect the same sensibility of heritage, interpreted with a modern eye.
