Hyatt Hotels Corporation announce that a Hyatt affiliate has entered into a management agreement with SIGNA and CENTRAL Group for the Thompson Vienna, a new luxury hotel to be located in the Austrian capital.

This milestone is a testament to Hyatt’s commitment to expanding its brands across Europe, as well as its strong commitment to growing the Thompson Hotel portfolio.

The 148-room hotel, scheduled to open at the end of 2024, will be located on Mariahilferstrasse (Mariahilfer Street) in Vienna’s popular shopping district as part of an exciting project to set up a new high-end KaDeWe department store in the city.

Thompson Vienna and KaDeWe will together create an immersive cultural destination for tourists and locals alike, offering a global experience that brings together international luxury brands and multiple dining opportunities.

“We are excited to expand our relationship with SIGNA and CENTRAL Group by presenting our plans for Thompson Vienna, the third Hyatt property in the city,” said Felicity Black-Roberts, vice president of development Europe, Hyatt.

“Offering a refined residential vibe, Thompson Vienna will draw visitors and residents of the city to the heart of a vibrant social scene, all as part of an unprecedented development that will integrate high-end shopping, dining, entertainment, fashion and accommodation within a single destination.”

World-renowned architects OMA and UK based interior designers Tara Bernerd & Partners will design the Thompson Vienna through a modern and avant-garde design inspired by the architecture and distinctive features of the famous Austrian capital, complemented by the laminated design, culinary sophistication and exceptional service of the Thompson Hotels brand.

This development follows Hyatt’s recent announcement of its plans for the debut of the Thompson Hotels brand in Spain with the Thompson Madrid.

Thompson Vienna will be the third Hyatt brand hotel in the capital, after Park Hyatt Vienna and Andaz Vienna Am Belvedere.
